OUTLINE OF SERVICEOnce a referral is received for your child the Manager visits the family at home to tell them about the Centre and the support that can be offered to their Child and themselves. Parents are then invited to visit the Centre to see it for themselves. If it is mutually agreed that the placement would prove beneficial, two sessions (5 hours in total) are allocated per Child per week. During the first few weeks the child has time to settle in, get to know staff and feel comfortable in their new environment whilst the team members observe and work with the child, make initial assessments and build relationships with their parents. Each child will receive a targeted programme aimed at ensuring each Child reaches their full potential. We will make referrals where necessary to health professional who can provide additional support such as: Speech and Language therapist, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. We operate on a high adult to child ratio 1:2 or 1:1 dependent on each Childs need in order to deliver a high quality programme of therapies and strategies. The program might include:
Therapy is ongoing and reviewed as necessary. Regular Team Around the Child Meetings are held in order to plan a coordinated approach for both the present and future needs of each child. These meetings have a strong emphasis on parents, health, education and social care professionals working in partnership. Together with the parents they identify the child's strengths and needs and a plan is devised to enable: the child to progress, to support inclusion and to support parents. Outreach Service
